Air Hydraulic & Lifting Equipment Specialists
Our £1.6M purpose built engineering premises at Bourtie Industrial Park, Inverurie, is our manufacturing site and UK & European Head Office. With an experienced team, the latest products available and a focused customer service, the future of Thern looks set for great things.
We opened our research and development company in 2008 with a dedicated design team of specialists. These engineers have already worked together within the Marine Lifting Industry, and have between them over 80 years experience in the air and hydraulic winch and hoist market.
Our goal was to design and build a dedicated personnel winch for today’s safety focused on/offshore drilling industry ... the Monitor 75/150:
The Monitor 75/150 & 75/150 LR Winches
All existing personnel winches in use worldwide have a fixed line pull of 150 kgs/330 lbs plus a safety factor for setting which can increase line pull to almost 200 kgs/440 lbs. This together with a line speed of 30 Mtrs/Min or 100ft /Min has caused numerous injuries and fatalities.
Our bespoke winch is the only one of its kind. The Monitor 75/150 is a specially designed and patented winch complete with Atex Certification. The main advantages of the Monitor compared to previous devices are its numerous safety features, self contained compact modular unit, load selector facility, structure and components which are primarily stainless steel with 3 independent internal failsafe multidisc brakes and a unique twin grooved drum system complete with an additional polyurethane roller system which prevents any chance of bird caging on the wire ropes, it also has an option to be powered by air or hydraulic power source. read more >
